Noel Simmons has been in the aviation business, in some manner, since he started to fly as a teenager. After spending time in the Navy, he came back to family in Montana. Having flown more than 63 types of aircraft, and built more than 40 small aircrafts, Simmons has established a solid reputation in the field for his thoroughness to detail and quality manufacturing.
In 2019, Simmons consolidated his AV8 LLC and Aerial Robotics Systems, LLC into Big Sky Robotics. This ways he can better serve his customers with personal designs and larger productions of the ARS Flex.
Simmons’ experience flying different aircraft, each having unique nuances that affect reliability, life expectancy, ease of manufacturing, and ultimately flying qualities, has given him the real-life education to begin the design concepts for a UAS and the design and manufacturing of 3D printed aircraft parts.
Simmons has a dynamic knowledge base of machining and mold-making with both CNC mill and lathe, and experience using Solidworks, GibbsCam and other machining software. He is an A&P-IA with a Commercial CFI, EAA tech counselor, EAA flight advisor and Part 107 Drone Pilot. Simmons currently works out of a hangar at the Great Falls International Airport.
